When a young Dave Stubbs arrived to police Wash Common, he was intrigued to find a musket ball in his garden, this sparked a life long interest in local history and now, here he is to tell us all about it.
About the speaker: Dave Stubbs
Dave Stubbs is a retired Thames Valley Police; prior to his retirement he was advising individuals and communities on security issues. He has also served in the honorary post of Newbury's Town Marshal. He has long has an interest in the history of Wash Common and has developed an in depth knowledge of the 1st Battle of Newbury that took place there and has led many guided walks over the battlefield.
