On a daily basis we drive, cycle or walk past buildings we barely notice. Many of these are important historic landmarks with their stories to tell, and there is no better guiide to Newbury's rich architectural heritage than our speaker. Dr Peacock will concentrate on the Georgian period, a time of affluence for Newbury, which is reflected in the grander buildings of the time.

David Peacock is a well-known speaker on the history of Newbury and its environs. Formerly a journalist and a teacher of politics and history at Padworth College, Dr Peacock also gives evening classes on local history at Newbury College and Reading University.
