Over 800 years of our national heritage The Chapter Library, containing over 6,000 rare books, has always been an integral part of the life of St George's. Its treasures, which date from the 12th century, include one of the first books to be printed in England. The Priory of Sandleford was a major landholder in Newbury and Enborne, famous tenants include Jack of Newbury. On its dissolution the Priory lands passed to the Dean & Chapter of the Chapel of St George in Windsor Castle.
