The dating of buildings by counting tree rings may sound a little far fetched - but there is sound science behind it - as our speaker will explain. He has also used the results of such dating to determine the periods when various construction methods or features were in use, making it possible to date a timber frame building far more accurately than in the past - without counting a single ring.

Andy Moir is a Visiting Fellow at Brunel University and runs Tree Ring Services a company, based in Hungerford, specialising in the dendrochronological dating of live trees, wooden artefacts and historic building timbers through out the UK.
